After two songs Morrissey quits

Just two song MORRISSEY stormed off stage into his set last night after being struck by a plastic beaker of beer.
The final date the singer was playing of his UK tour in Liverpool when a fan threw the missile at him.
He was kneeling down at the front of the stage shaking hands with audience members when he was hit.
After standing up and wiping his face, Morrissey said "Goodbye" and quickly walked offstage, followed by his band.
The audience at the city's Echo Arena, who will be offered a full refund, were told 15 minutes later that the singer would not be finishing the show.
Last month the former SMITHS frontman pulled out of two shows after collapsing during a gig in Swindon.
He's due in Holland on Monday to begin the European leg of his tour.

Morrissey Back on His Feet and Cracking Jokes After Fainting Spell

After breathing problems forced to cancel two show Morrissey, the former Smiths frontman resumed his U.K. tour Tuesday night at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
Morrissey, 50, fell to his knees Saturday after finishing the first song of his set in the city of Swindon and had to be carried offstage by two of his band members.
The Maladjusted crooner was hospitalized overnight for observation. On the advice of his doctors, he scrapped a gig Monday in Bournemouth so he could get some rest.
But back on his feet last night, Morrissey made light of his ailment, pretending to faint at one point before jumping back up and shouting, "Thank you, Swindon!" per the BBC.
"The doctor said I shouldn't smile. I told him, 'I don't,'" cracked the usually somber hitmaker.

"Morrissey's a Twat”, Peter Hook

Perhaps in an effort to divert attention away from his autograph fraud, former New Order and Joy Division bassist Peter Hook has lashed out against ex-Smiths front man and artist Morrissey solo celebrated. In a public Q&A on Saturday (October 10) in Bristol, England, Hook explained his disdain for the Smiths. "There's no way I could have liked the Smiths, as they were our competition," he said. "A twat anyway to Morrissey's! He makes Mark E. Smith look popular! He really does." Hook went on to dig into Moz's approach to legal issues, saying, “What I do love about Mozzer, though, is that any time anyone has any legal problem with him, the only person you can speak to about (it) is his mother! That's true. So if you have a problem you have to deal with Morrissey's mother. And the first thing she says is, 'Our Steven wouldn't do that!'"

Love Morrissey Song to Katy Perry, Russell Brand

Morrissey is typically associated with unrequited love or heartbreak, but that's not the case for new couple Katy Perry and Russell Brand. Britain's The Sun reports the two, who met at the MTV Video Music Awards last month and have since started dating, have picked Morrissey's "Whatever Happens, I Love You" as their song. Brand also plans to get its chorus tattooed on "an intimate part of his body," according to the tabloid. Brand and Perry are recently on vacation in Paris, France, where they currently visited Jim Morrison's grave. Perry also has a cameo in Brand's upcoming new film, Forgetting Sarah Marshall spinoff Get Him To The Greek. It's out in June.

Astor jury to keep deliberating tells NYC judge

NEW YORK — Jurors in the five month long criminal trial over New York City philanthropist Brooke Astor's will were told to keep deliberating after indicating they're struggling to reach a verdict.
Judge A. Kirke Bartley told jurors Monday to "hang in there" as unhurriedness stretched into a stressful eighth full day. One female juror appeared tearful in the Manhattan courtroom.
Bartley urged jurors to be "respectful" with one another.
Jurors went the night5 for home. It wasn't clear instantly what had sparked dissonance. The the note the jurors had sent him, judge did not say and sealed.
Astor's son, Anthony Marshall, and lawyer Francis Morrissey are charged with looting Astor's nearly $200 million estate. They deny the allegations. Astor died in 2007 at 105.
(This version CORRECTS judge's name to A. Kirke Bartley, not Kirke A. Bartley.)

Morrissey play to Valley concert

British singer-songwriter Morrissey, who performed at the 2009 Coachella Music and Arts Festival, is returning to the desert Dec. 5 for a concert at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino.
With his poetic lyrics and a distinctive croon that sags with emotion, Morrissey helped turn The Smiths into one of the most influential bands of the 1980s.
After the pair split in 1987, he launched a successful solo career with such hits as “Everyday is Like Sunday,” “Suedehead” and “We Hate it When Our Friends Become Successful.” He is listed among Rolling Stone magazine's list of the top 100 singers of all time.

Morrissey to Release Album, Tour U.S.

For email-pal Johnny Marr's sake, let's hope Morrissey has a smart phone, because the King of Mope is hitting the road this fall/winter in support of his upcoming release: Swords, a new B-sides compilation out Nov. 3.

Astor trial, NYC jury resuming deliberations

NEW YORK (AP) — The jury in the criminal trial over the will of late philanthropist Brooke Astor is scheduled to resume deliberations Wednesday.
Astor's son, Anthony Marshall, and estate lawyer Francis X. Morrissey are accused in an 18-count indictment of exploiting her mental decline to plunder millions of dollars from her estate, estimated at $198 million.
Marshall faces a maximum 25 years in prison if he's convicted of the most dangerous charges of first-degree grand thievery.
Prosecutors say Marshall pressured Astor into selling a painting for $10 million and pocketed a $2 million commission. They say he also gave himself a $1.4 million retroactive raise for managing his mother's finances.
Astor was 105 and suffering from Alzheimer's when she died in 2007.

Closing Arguments At Trial Of Astor's Son

Closing arguments were scheduled to resume Monday at the Manhattan trial of Anthony Marshall and his co-defendant, attorney Francis Morrissey. Prosecutors say Astor who died in 2007 at age 105 wasn't competent to sign documents that increased Marshall's share of her $198 million estate. The defense says that although she was suffering from Alzheimer's, the philanthropist had lucid moments. On Friday, the prosecutor said Astor signed a letter in 2003, giving her son $5 million. He said that on the same day, she was too confused to know she was in her own house. Assistant District Attorney Joel Seidemann called it further proof that Marshall took advantage of Astor. Astor was born March 30, 1902. She died of pneumonia at Briarcliff Manor, N.Y. in 2007 at the age of 105.

New York's high society to Trial shines a spotlight

Reporting from New York What did the butler hear? Can the peeved French maid and the combative ex-chauffeur be trusted? If only the pet dachshunds, Boysie and Girlsie, could talk. It would make it far easier for the jurors who this week are expected to begin reviewing four months of often contradictory testimony to decide if the son of Brooke Astor, the late philanthropist and New York social doyenne, fleeced his mother of millions.Final arguments began Monday in the trial of the son, Anthony Marshall, and Astor's estate attorney, Francis X. Morrissey Jr. They are accused of altering Astor's will to ensure her approximately $198-million estate went to Marshall when she died in 2007 at the age of 105.On Tuesday, defense attorneys sought to portray Astor as a mother driven by love for her only son to change her will in 2004. She was not, they reasoned, a demented old woman strong armed by Marshall and Morrissey, as the prosecution has alleged."Underlying this case is the love of Brooke Astor for Tony Marshall," his attorney, Frederick Hafetz, said as defense summations stretched to the 10-hour mark. The trial has revealed the clashing worlds of New York where Wall Street's collapse and the Bernard Madoff scandal have ended many high rollers' lavish ways, but where a rare few still have untold millions to spend. In Astor's case, those millions often went to supporting institutions geared toward improving life for less fortunate New Yorkers libraries, universities, hospitals, public gardens and conservation pairs among them.

Morrissey’s: candidates prevail in W. Haven

WEST HAVEN It was the Morrissey faction over the Picard faction in Tuesday’s Democratic primary.More candidates supported by Democratic Town Committee Chairman James Morrissey won in Tuesday night’s hotly contested primary over candidates supported by Mayor John M. Picard. In two of the most heated contests of the night, City Clerk Deborah Collins and Tax Collector Francis Withington will remain the candidates for the Democratic Party. Collins, backed by Morrissey, handily defeated challenger Deborah Evangelista, who was supported by Picard.Former City Councilwoman Martha Bell waged an intense battle against Withington for the tax collector spot on the ticket and earned a large number of votes, though Withington ultimately won. Final tallies were not available Tuesday night. During his one term in office, Withington generated controversy when he refused to hire a tax manager for the office, despite strong urging from Picard and the City Council.Picard said he was particularly disappointed by Bell’s loss to Withington, saying he “couldn’t believe people couldn’t see that we need a professional in that office.” Regarding the loss of a majority of his candidates for City Council, Picard said he is disappointed but still plans to focus on moving the city forward if re-elected.“My intention is always to move the city forward,” he said.Picard also pointed out that two of his candidates for the Board of Education, M. Toni Paine and Mark Palmieri, were the night’s top vote getters. His third Board of Education candidate, Gerald Calabritto, did not make the ticket, as Morrissey backed candidate Eric Murillo did.For City Council, the only Picard supported candidate to defend his spot on the ticket was District 1 Councilman Nicholas Pascale. The rest of the winners for City Council were Morrissey candidates: Sean McCauley, 2nd District; John Lewis, 3rd District; Steve Wydra, 4th District; Councilwoman Nancy Rossi, 7th District; Councilwoman Tracy Morrissey, 8th District; and Councilman Sean Ronan, 9th District. Council member Deborah Conlon lost her 2nd District seat, and Gail Carroll lost her 3rd District seat.“The Democratic voters spoke for themselves,” James Morrissey said at the end of the night. “It was a sweet victory for us.”One person on the Picard team, 18 year old recent Notre Dame High School graduate Michael DiMassa, said he was proud of the showing he had against Rossi. DiMassa said he lost by about 40 votes.“Against a two term incumbent? I’m thrilled. I’ll be back in two years,” he said.

Morrissey Fabulous resurrection

FASHION designer Peter Morrissey believes the brain aneurism that almost killed him seven weeks ago happened for a reason.
After his surgery, Morrissey's twin sister and four brothers all had MRI scans. It was discovered his brother Chris, a doctor married to singer Marcia Hines, had an unruptured aneurism.
Chris then had a procedure to repair it. Morrissey wouldn't reveal more details out of respect for his brother's privacy but said he was now in a stable condition.
''I exist a brain aneurism and now I've saved my brother's life. It was worth it,'' Morrissey said. ''My brother is in hospital now and we were just laughing and comparing how much catheters hurt.''
But it wasn't a laughing matter seven weeks ago. Morrissey said it was touch and go.
''I was on 24-hour see for nine days in hard care. They were troubled I could have had a stroke. I had to learn to walk again. The intensive care nurses said not many people who are in intensive care for nine days survive.''
But he has been given the all clear and has spent the past month resting and having physiotherapy.
''It changed my life in that I have a higher admiration of my family and my partner, Sean, a higher admiration of nurses and a higher admiration of the medical system.''
Morrissey's life has been full of ups and downs.
''I'm a miniseries the bust up with Leona [Edmiston], my parents dying, losing the rights to my name … this health scare is just another climactic turn in the script. I believe everything happens for a reason. It's not bad luck - it's a wonderful lesson,'' he said.
He said he had been overwhelmed with support. ''The public have been amazing. I go into the chemist and people say, 'Oh, you're alive?' … Barry Humphries sent me an email from Texas, saying, 'I believe you've had a fabulous resurrection.' ''
Morrissey has joined forces with Bruno Schiavi to launch a collection in stores across Australia and the US. They will launch in Big W stores nationally on October 22. ''I've been criticised for going mass market and I just say I good if Madonna feels that when she sells 600 million albums,'' he said. ''The top price of a dress in Big W is $59. It's socially correct to make suitably priced clothes so people can fashion their lives.''
He also plans to give back to the medical teams who saved his life.

Morrissey Behaving Badly Star Millions In Debt

TV star Neil Morrissey has become the latest victim of the credit compaction, falling millions of pounds into arrears after a business scheme he invested in collapsed.

Morrissey tells fans, "Boycott new box set reissues" Morrissey tells fans

Singer asks followers 'not to bother buying' the new releases.

Morrissey has requested that fans don't buy any of the approaching box set reissues from his back catalogue. The former Smiths singer claimed in a statement issued to fan site True-to-you.net, which he often annonunce through, that he wouldn't receive any money from the reissues, released on November 2, and that he was not asked for acceptance for their release.

The Morrissey reissues will see singles and B-sides re-packaged as new seven-inch vinyl releases."Morrissey would like it to be known that he has not been refered by EMI/HMV/Parlophone [record labels, and not the retailer] with regards to two approaching boxed sets of Morrissey singles," the message read.It continued: "Morrissey does not accept such releases and would ask people not to bother buying them. Morrissey receives no payments from EMI for any back catalogue, and has not received a commission from EMI since 1992.

"Morrissey also does not approve of, and was not advised on, the (past release) Rhino box of Smiths CDs, or the Warner acquittance of Smiths LPs on 180 gramme vinyl."Morrissey last received a royalty payment from Warners ten years ago and, once again, he would ask people not to bother buying the reissued LPs or CDs."The singer made a similar move in August 2008, asking fans not to buy a DVD of one of his live shows, 'Live At The Hollywood Bowl', describing the arm art as "appalling".

According to some news, Morrissey has declared that he will perform a one concert at the Liverpool Echo Arena on November 7.

This event will be the last gig of the former Smiths singer's 2009 tour.

The tour will see Morrissey play a series of rescheduled dates in July and October after he was strained to cancel UK shows due to sickness earlier this year.

Morrissey Suedehead Lyrics and video

Why do you come here ?
And why do you hang around ?
I'm so sorry
I'm so sorry

Why do you come here
When you know it makes things hard for me ?
When you know, oh
Why do you come ?
Why do you telephone ? (Hmm...)
And why send me silly notes ?
I'm so sorry
I'm so sorry

Why do you come here
When you know it makes things hard for me ?
When you know, oh
Why do you come ?
You had to sneak into my room
'just' to read my diary
"It was just to see, just to see"
(All the things you knew I'd written about you...)
Oh, so many illustrations
Oh, but
I'm so very sickened
Oh, I am so sickened now

Oh, it was a good lay, good lay
It was a good lay, good lay
It was a good lay, good lay
Oh
It was a good lay, good lay
It was a good lay, good lay
Oh, it was a good lay, good lay
Oh
Oh, it was a good lay
It was a good lay
Oh, a good lay
Oh, it was a good lay
Good lay, good lay
Oh
It was a good lay

i just had a falling out with one of my friends, who used to love this song and say it was the soundtrack to his life. oddly enough the lyrics are eerily relatable to what happened in our situation.

Rediscovering the magic of MORRISSEY Reviewer: Anonymous 1/23/2008

Just found this gem recently which rekindled my desire to rediscover the genius of Morrisseys Music, including the Smith's years. It's a shame that personal feuds and money matters have more or less shattered this once great band, nonetheless Morrissey has succeeded in a solo career. One can only dream what may have come had they remained together.....

Introduction To Morrissey

Steven Patrick Morrissey, generally called as Morrissey, is a british singer and lyricist. He was born in Davyhulme, Greater Manchester on May 22, 1959.

He was the lead singer of The Smiths, one of the most powerful alternative bands in the 1980s. The band broken up in 1987 and Morrissey began a flourishing solo career.

Morrissey is often well-known as one of the key pop lyricists of his generation, with many following artists hailing his influence. Themes on which he has touched include child murder, gang violence, domestic violence, prostitution, racism, drug use, homosexuality, disability, assassination, and terrorism. Unrequited love and a festivity of the outsider are a constant theme throughout his work.

His first solo album was launched in 1988 and was entitled Viva hate. It was followed by Bona Drag (1990), Kill Uncle (1991), the Mick Ronson-produced Your Arsenal (1992), a live album Beethoven Was Deaf (1993), Vauxhall and I (1994), Southpaw Grammar (1995) and Maladjusted (1997).
Morrissey also recorded a one-off single with the singer Siouxsie : they both sang in duet on Interlude.

A age of musical immobility followed in the late 90s and early 2000s, which was due to breakdown in finding a appropriate label, according to a 2004 meeting with Jools Holland. After seven years without a new album launch, You Are the Quarry was launched on May 17, 2004 (but one day later in the USA). The first single, Irish Blood, English Heart, was launched globally on May 10, 2004. The single arrived at number three in its first week of sales in the UK singles chart.
